Section I: Key Takeaways
Scholarship and Financial Aid

“Always try to rub up against money, for if you rub up against money long enough, some of it may rub off on you.”
Damon Runyon
Today, it nearly goes without saying that college can be expensive. So, it is a good idea to research financial aid options early on in the process. Moreover, students can search for scholarships, grants, and other aid. In many cases, pursuing scholarships and knowing the ins and outs of financial aid can make college more affordable.
The cost of attending college is a significant financial burden for many families. The financial aid process can be complex and difficult to navigate, adding another layer of stress to an already daunting process. It is thus important for students and college applicants to research their options thoroughly and not make assumptions about affordability. After all, they may discover new opportunities not yet considered and find a path to their ideal college or university.

Our students do not agree that aspiring college students and college admissions applicants already know a lot about the financial aid and scholarships part of the college admissions process when they get into it.
